The founder of Beat Wellbeing
Beat was born to bridge the divide between traditional holistic healing modalities and the health needs imposed by a modern lifestyle.
It exists to nurture a state of authentic vitality - however that looks for you.
Here’s a little bit of my story...
I began dancing when I was three - ballet, jazz and musical theatre - since a young age I have been connected with my body, how it works and how to support it to perform better. When Yoga came into my life at the age of 10 it opened the door to a deep relationship with the mind-body connection.
After school I completed a Bachelors Degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Otago, with plans for further studies or research into neurological conditions. Life had other plans for me though and whilst wandering the streets of Western Australia a clinic sign advertising Naturopathy caught my attention. After some investigating and an entrance interview I booked flights home and began a three year Diploma of Naturopathy at the Naturopathic College of New Zealand - this pathway offered something I had been searching for in traditional health services: an individualised approach to health that incorporated modern science with traditional healing techniques, I’m three years on from completing my studies and the learning has only really just begun. I have worked in integrative health clinics in Dunedin and Hawkes Bay, New Zealand and have facilitated workshops, nutritional catering and educational talks at retreat centres for 5 years.
I am now based in Dunedin and run a virtual clinic and this natural product page offering my services New Zealand wide. I faciliate well-being retreats and hold talks in schools and workplaces. In my down time I can be found in my herb and vegetable garden, strumming a guitar and playing in the waves.
I’m glad you’re here, welcome to Beat!
